Teaching Assistant - SEMH Academics are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly respected and nurturing specialist SEMH school in Canterbury for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people who require additional support both inside and outside the classroom.

The Role:

Supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs on a 1:1 and small group basis. Building positive relationships and acting as a consistent, trusted adult. Assisting with behaviour regulation and helping pupils engage positively in their learning. Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other support staff. Encouraging pupils' social, emotional and academic development. We Welcome Applications From:
Experienced Teaching Assistants (TA) Learning Support Assistants (LSA) Behaviour Mentors or Youth Workers Individuals with an SEMH, SEN or pastoral support background Psychology Graduates looking to gain invaluable experience before pursuing further training or careers in education, counselling or mental health services.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
Be patient, resilient and compassionate. Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Be confident supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviours. Have a genuine passion for helping vulnerable young people succeed. Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service. In Return, You Will Receive:
