Deb’s Place Early Learning Centre is looking for a capable, fun and experienced ECE teacher to join our preschool whānau and facilitate our Transition to School programme.

We are a family-owned and operated centre with a supportive team, realistic expectations and a genuine commitment to work/life balance.

One of our biggest points of difference is our massive outdoor environment, giving tamariki plenty of space to move, explore, take risks and learn through play. A teacher with an interest in movement, physical development or outdoor learning would be a great fit.

You’ll work in our preschool room (2-5) with the responsibility for supporting our older preschool children to have a successful transition to school - nurturing their confidence, independence, social skills and early literacy and mathematical thinking as they prepare for school – while keeping learning fun and developmentally appropriate.

We're looking for someone who:
  • Is a qualified and registered ECE teacher
  • Has relevant teaching experience in New Zealand
  • Is confident taking the lead with our Transition to School programme
  • Is fun, energetic and enjoys getting involved with tamariki
  • Brings ideas, initiative and their own strengths to the curriculum
  • Values strong relationships with children, whānau and colleagues

This is a Monday–Friday, 9:00am–3:30pm role, ideal for an experienced teacher who also wants a work/life balance.

Please note:

Applicants must already be based in New Zealand and meet the qualification, registration and NZ teaching experience requirements above. We will not be considering overseas applications for this position.
