Music at Kent College Junior School enjoys an outstanding reputation. Over 70% of pupils voluntarily participate in choir activities, our Choristers have performed at prestigious cathedrals across the UK, and our orchestral and performance programmes provide rich musical opportunities for children from an early age. With multiple productions, concerts and events throughout the year, music plays a central role in the life of the school.
WhatYou Will Be Doing
As Head of Music, you will:
- Lead and develop the Music curriculum from Pre-Reception to Year 6.
- Inspire and conduct choirs and instrumental ensembles.
- Deliver engaging music teaching while overseeing the wider music provision.
- Coordinate a team of visiting music teachers delivering over 150 lessons each week.
- Organise concerts, productions, examinations, scholarships, trips and musical events.
- Develop an inclusive choral strategy that promotes participation and musical excellence.
- Work closely with the College Director of Music and support the wider music programme, including leading the KS3 choir at the Senior School.
- A talented and enthusiastic musician with a passion for inspiring young people.
- Experienced in leading successful and inclusive choral programmes.
- An accomplished pianist and confident musical director.
- A collaborative and energetic team player with excellent communication skills.
- Committed to creating opportunities for every child to enjoy and succeed in music.
- Warm, approachable and able to motivate pupils, colleagues and parents alike.
