Competitive Benefits Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing business operating within the industrial process, energy and cryogenic technology sectors. Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will play a key role in transforming process designs into practical mechanical solutions for manufacture and delivery to customers worldwide.
This position would suit a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate through to an engineer with a few years of industry experience looking to develop their technical expertise within a highly specialised engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities Develop mechanical designs from process engineering specifications. Produce 2D engineering drawings using AutoCAD. Create 3D models and assemblies using Inventor or Solid Works. Design heat exchangers, piping systems, valves and associated mechanical equipment. Generate manufacturing and assembly drawings for production. Produce and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs). Assist with structural design of skids, pipework and supporting structures. Prepare and update P&IDs and occasional basic electrical drawings.
Support material selection, equipment sourcing and project costing activities. Ensure designs meet quality, inspection and engineering standards. Collaborate with engineering, production and commercial teams on product development and continuous improvement initiatives. About You We're interested in speaking with candidates who have: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience with AutoCAD and 3D CAD software such as Inventor or Solid Works. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate engineering documentation. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams. Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Desirable but not essential:
Knowledge of fluid mechanics.
Experience of pressure vessel design. Understanding of electrical schematics and P&IDs. Previous experience within manufacturing, process engineering, energy, LNG, cryogenic or industrial equipment sectors. What's on Offer?
