Healthcare Assistant - Tūārangi

Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care to our patients, and we currently have a part time vacancy based in Tūārangi Home in Ashburton.

As a Healthcare Assistant you will assist nursing staff with patient cares whilst maintaining a safe and clean work environment. You will enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team, have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a high level of confidentiality and the ability to work well under pressure.

This role is primarily based in Tūārangi Home, however at times you may be required to work in some of the other wards at Ashburton Hospital.

• Tūārangi Home is a Residential Care facility (close to the main Ashburton Hospital) that provides hospital level and dementia care at both rest home and hospital levels.
• Ashburton Hospital provides a range of Inpatient health services; both acute, and assessment treatment and rehabilitation.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
• Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• Previous experience working with people with dementia is advantageous, but not essential
• Ability to work shifts across Monday to Sunday; morning, afternoon and nights
• A certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3 or
  4) or a willingness to work towards one
