Senior Biomedical Scientist in Haemostasis and Thrombosis (p-t FTC)

We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic and motivated applicants for a Senior Biomedical Scientist in Haemophilia (Band
7), working part-time 22.5 hours per week, on a fixed‑term contract for 12 months. This role in the Haemophilia laboratory specifically supports the implementation of the new Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), a clinical priority for Pathology this post we can offer you a rewarding, flexible and supportive role, providing a wide scope of haemostasis and thrombosis diagnostic services using up‑to‑date and innovative technology.
You will be joining our team of experienced and dedicated Biomedical Scientists, working closely with the medical team in the Kent Haemophilia and Thrombosis Comprehensive Care Centre to support operational delivery, staff training of all grades, method development, clinical guideline creation and possible participation in clinical research activities.

Main duties of the jobThe Senior BMS role will act as a conduit between the scientific and clinical sides of the service, undertaking laboratory and clinical duty sessions, providing clinical liaison as needed. The post holder will provide technical, managerial and leadership expertise. They will be a key contributor to quality management and improvement, the training of all department scientists, and the verification and implementation of new methodologies.
We have an extensive repertoire and scope of practice, using the latest high‑quality innovation and technology, for instance STA‑R Max analysers, Ceveron S100, PFA‑200, PAP‑8 Platelet Aggregometer, Glomax luminometer, Dynex DS2 automated ELISA analyser and the Gene Xpert.
The successful candidate should have a high level of analytical and technical skill, including statistical analysis, and should possess considerable, up‑to‑date knowledge of current practices and advances in Haematology, with specific experience in Haemostasis and Thrombosis desirable.
