South East London Cluster (Beckenham, Canterbury and Aylesford)

37.5 hours per week, permanent position

Salary: up to £45,000 per year based on experience, training, and qualifications.

We have an opportunity for a Health and Safety Cluster Lead to join our Health & Safety department. This full‑time role involves 37.5 hours a week with a flexible shift pattern and requires frequent travel between Beckenham, Canterbury, and Aylesford sites.

• Partner with Senior Management Teams (SMTs) in your cluster of sites to ensure compliance with H&S legislation, Approved Codes of Practice and the implementation of CHG policies.
• Act as the Health and Safety Advisor’s senior contact, providing ongoing support and mentorship.
• Collaborate and communicate with the HSCA, leading on meeting objectives to improve cluster site health and safety performance, consistency and compliance, prioritising actions commensurate with risk.
• Demonstrate an appropriate level of compliance with relevant health and safety standards to CHG’s regulators (CQC, HIS, HIW, HSE, EA, local government agents and other stakeholders).
• Co‑operate and coordinate in achieving the designated H&S time allocation for each site, leading and making strategic adjustments as needed.
• Assist in identifying and sharing best practice and lessons learned following incidents within the cluster.

• 5 years H&S management experience in healthcare
• Competence in undertaking a wide range of risk assessments
• Contractor safety management experience
• Training and presenting experience
• Level 3 qualification in H&S Management
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
• H&S professional registration (IOSH registration and evidence of CPD)
• Technical fire safety knowledge
• Ability to identify, understand and interpret relevant health and safety legislation, approved codes of practice and guidance, and advise managers on required risk control measures
• RCA / incident investigation skill
• Experience undertaking audits
