Elite Community Ultrasound Ltd (ECU) is a CQC-regulated independent diagnostic ultrasound provider operating clinics across Kent, England. We are recruiting an experienced Medical Sonographer to join our clinical team in the United Kingdom.

This opportunity is particularly suitable for medically qualified doctors/sonologists in India with substantial recent hands-on experience independently performing and reporting diagnostic ultrasound examinations who are interested in relocating to the UK.

40 hours per week

Salary: 39, per annum, depending on experience and verified competencies

We are particularly interested in candidates with current practical experience in several of the following areas:

• Obstetric ultrasound
• Gynaecological and pelvic ultrasound
• Fertility/follicular monitoring
• Abdominal ultrasound
• Renal/KUB ultrasound
• Small-parts and general medical ultrasound
• 3D/4D pregnancy ultrasound
• MSK ultrasound experience is desirable but not essential

Candidates do not need to perform every examination listed above. Clinical duties will be allocated according to verified training, experience and competency
.

Applicants should:

• Hold an MBBS or equivalent recognised medical qualification
• Have appropriate postgraduate training/qualification in Radiology, Radio diagnosis, Medical Imaging, Ultrasonography or a closely related field
• Have substantial recent hands-on experience performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations
• Be capable of independently acquiring diagnostic-quality ultrasound images
• Have experience preparing/signing diagnostic ultrasound reports
• Demonstrate good knowledge of anatomy, pathology and ultrasound appearances
• Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues in English
• Be able to provide verifiable qualifications, employment history and professional references
• Be willing to complete ECU's UK clinical orientation and competency-assessment programme

Important: This is not a trainee sonographer position
. Applicants must already possess substantial practical ultrasound scanning experience.

The successful candidate will perform ultrasound examinations within their verified scope of competence, obtain appropriate clinical histories and consent, produce accurate clinical reports, communicate findings appropriately, recognise and upscale urgent or abnormal findings, maintain accurate patient records, and comply with ECU policies relating to clinical governance, safeguarding, infection prevention, confidentiality, audit and patient safety.

International candidates will undertake a structured induction covering UK ultrasound practice, ECU scanning and reporting protocols, clinical governance, consent and capacity, safeguarding, infection prevention and control, patient communication, documentation, escalation/referral pathways and CQC requirements.

Competency will be assessed before independent practice within individual examination categories.

The successful candidate will have a structured development pathway with the opportunity to progress to Senior Sonographer following satisfactory UK clinical experience, competency assessment, reporting quality and performance.
