Position: Trust Facilities Officer - Fixed Term

Facilities Officer

Turner Schools is looking to recruit a Facilities Officer to join our team predominantly covering our Canterbury Schools. This is on an initial fixed-term contract until 31st December 2026. The position will be reviewed prior to the end date and may be ended, extended or made permanent subject to the needs of the Trust at the time.

The successful candidate will work on a rotational basis (7 days a week rolling rota working 4 on and 4 off) assisting with the maintenance and security of the buildings and grounds to ensure all operational needs of the Trust are met. You must have a can-do attitude and work well in a team.

The ideal candidate will include:

  • Be hardworking

  • Have experience of facilities and operational functions (desirable)
  • Hold a qualification in, or be willing to be trained in one, or a multiple of, the following skills:
  • Electrical installation/maintenance (to Edition 18)
  • Plumbing
  • Painting & Decorating
  • Carpentry
  • Grounds Maintenance (including synthetic surfaces) and/or other recognisable trades (essential)
  • Experience with, or willingness to be trained in, the use of Computer Assisted Facilities Management Software (CAFM) (essential)
  • Full UK manual driving licence (essential)
  • Own transport (essential)

Hours:

37 per week on a rota basis between 6:00 and 22:30, including some weekends.

Duration: 52 weeks, including some weekends.
