The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the senior leadership team, you will assess our current market position and build a practical strategy for sustainable growth across three connected priorities:

  • Generating appropriate self-pay enquiries and assessment bookings.
  • Developing corporate, professional and healthcare referral relationships.
  • Building a trusted brand profile with GPs, NHS stakeholders and partners, including awareness of the organisation as a potential provider through the NHS Right to Choose pathway, where applicable.

This is a senior strategic role focused on market positioning, proposition development, referral pathways, stakeholder engagement and performance. The emphasis is on setting direction and building the right operating model, but you should expect to work hands‑on where needed to create momentum during the interim period.

You will make sure our marketing accurately reflects our clinical model, assessment process, governance and patient experience, and define how we build trust with individuals, families, employers, GPs and NHS stakeholders while generating high‑quality demand and referrals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review current marketing activity, brand positioning, referral sources, patient and referrer journeys, performance data, stakeholder relationships, internal capability and agency arrangements.
  • Develop an integrated strategy to increase appropriate self‑pay enquiries, bookings and conversions across self‑pay, corporate/employer and NHS‑facing channels.
  • Refine our brand proposition, differentiators and messaging, with emphasis on clinical quality, qualified practitioners, robust assessment, patient experience, reporting quality and post‑assessment guidance.
  • Define priority markets, patient segments, geographies, service lines and growth opportunities.
  • Produce a prioritised 90‑day, six‑month and 12‑month marketing, partnership and stakeholder‑engagement roadmap.
  • Establish the capability, agency model, systems and performance framework needed to sustain delivery beyond the appointment.
What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Significant experience as a Marketing Director, Head of Marketing, Head of Growth, or equivalent senior marketing leader.
  • Experience in private healthcare or another highly regulated, trust‑based sector.
  • A proven record of developing commercially effective B2C marketing strategies in referral‑led markets, with the ability to connect marketing investment to enquiries, bookings, referral volumes, conversions and revenue.
  • Strong command of brand strategy, segmentation, proposition development, reputation management, digital acquisition, CRM and marketing measurement.
  • Sound judgement and a strong understanding of accurate, ethical and evidence‑based healthcare communications, including UK GDPR and special‑category (health) data handling, and ASA/CAP rules on health advertising.
  • The credibility to work collaboratively with senior clinicians, governance leads, operational teams and board‑level stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Demonstrable experience of GP, primary‑care, NHS referral‑pathway, commissioner or professional‑referrer marketing.
  • Experience creating clarity and momentum quickly in a growth environment.
What We Ask Of You
  • A willingness to spend regular time within the business, building a detailed understanding of our services, people and customers.
  • The ability to thrive in a values‑driven culture.
