We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to join a leading business operating within the fresh produce sector.

Based primarily at a new packhouse in Bridge, Canterbury, this is a multi-site role supporting managers and operational teams to maintain a safe, compliant and proactive working environment. You will work closely with the H&S Manager while taking ownership of key risk assessment, compliance and safety improvement activities.

Health & Safety Advisor

Key Responsibilities

Advise managers and supervisors on day-to-day health and safety matters.
Lead and review risk assessments and support the development of safe systems of work.
Help embed the Safety Management System across operational teams.
Lead H&S meetings and regularly carry out site safety walks.
Support internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Assist with incident investigations and follow-up actions.
Deliver health and safety initiatives, toolbox talks and training support.
Manage contractor H&S requirements including RAMS, permits and site monitoring.
Maintain statutory compliance records and monitor required inspections and testing.
Analyse safety performance data and prepare reports.

Health & Safety Advisor Key Skills and Experience

NEBOSH General Certificate, essential.
Minimum 2 years’ experience within Health & Safety.

Experience with in food production or manufacturing would be advantageous.
Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
Experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
Confident communication and influencing skills.
Strong organisation, attention to detail and Microsoft Office skills.
Full UK driving licence and access to a car, essential, due to travel between sites.
Flexible approach to supporting operational requirements.
