Overview
Technical Manager — Play a key role in delivering quality and compliance for high-profile customers. Working with a leading name in fresh produce. They pride themselves on outstanding product quality, robust compliance, and strong customer partnerships. They are now seeking a Technical Manager to provide expert technical support and ensure our products meet the highest standards—from farm to customer shelf.
What You'll Do- Lead customer relationships - build and maintain trusted partnerships with key customer contacts, ensuring KPI targets are met and emerging issues are resolved quickly.
- Deliver customer strategy - work as part of a cross-functional team to create and execute customer category plans aligned with technical and integrity requirements.
- Own specifications & standards - maintain accurate customer specifications and technical systems, ensuring all internal teams and suppliers understand and meet customer and legal standards.
- Drive continuous improvement - monitor product quality in the packhouse, investigate complaints, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Support innovation - champion NPD/EPD opportunities and work with suppliers on process and product improvements.
- Audit & compliance - conduct 2nd-party supplier audits, close out non-conformances, and stay ahead of BRC, Global
G.A.P, Red Tractor and other certification requirements.
- Strong technical background within fresh produce/food manufacturing.
- Proven experience managing a top 5 retailer account
- Knowledge of BRC, Global
G.A.P and Red Tractor standards. - HACCP training plus Food Safety & Hygiene qualifications;
Internal Auditor certification desirable. - Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering innovation in processes, products, or supplier relationships.
