Our client is an established New Zealand FMCG business with a strong presence across the grocery and food service markets. Based in Christchurch, the business has built a portfolio of recognised brands and supplies products throughout New Zealand and into Australia.
The business has a strong focus on innovation, operational improvement and delivering quality products to customers. It is a collaborative manufacturing environment where quality plays an important role across production, product development, export and customer requirements.
The OpportunityThis role, available due to parental leave, is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity reporting to the Food Safety & Quality Manager. You will support the day-to-day operation of the quality system, with a hands-on focus across the manufacturing site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting RMP, HACCP, PRP, GMP and internal audit requirements
- Coordinating corrective and preventative actions and maintaining quality records
- Coordinating product release, quality checks, testing and investigations
- Conducting manufacturing inspections and product sampling
- Supporting customer complaints, questionnaires and documentation
- Reviewing product specifications and artwork for new products
- Supporting export documentation, testing and product release
- Contributing to continuous improvement and food safety initiatives
This role would suit a quality professional who enjoys a varied manufacturing environment and is comfortable balancing quality systems, hands-on site activity, documentation and customer requirements.
We are looking for someone with:
- Relevant food science, food technology or quality qualification
- 4+ years of QA experience in a NZ FMCG manufacturing or processing environment
- Good understanding of quality systems, GMP and food safety
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Competence with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Adaptability and resilience when working in a dynamic environment.
