The Role
As a Senior Expert Modeller, you'll be at the heart of delivering cutting-edge quantitative solutions. You'll work collaboratively with our project leads, internal QM teams, and external clients to build and apply sophisticated models that drive drug discovery strategy.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:- Developing and delivering technical models and solutions that address real-world drug discovery challenges
- Population PKPD modelling to predict drug behaviour across diverse patient populations
- Translational science bridging preclinical and clinical data
- Physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling for dose optimisation and prediction
- Systems pharmacology to understand complex drug–target interactions
- Collaborating with project leads and clients to define, scope, and execute quantitative analyses
- Contributing expert technical input across the QM portfolio
- Publication and presentation of scientific findings at conferences and in peer-reviewed journals
You’ll be trusted to work independently while thriving as part of a collaborative team, always ready to engage with colleagues and clients.
About You Essential Qualifications & Experience- 3–5 years of professional experience in PKPD and/or quantitative systems modelling within drug discovery or development teams, or a PhD in a related field
- Strong understanding of PKPD principles, pharmacology, and biology
- Proficiency with industry-standard modelling software: NONMEM, MATLAB/Sim Biology, or equivalent
- Statistical expertise with solid foundation in data analysis and interpretation
- PhD, PharmD, or equivalent postgraduate training in life sciences, mathematics, physics, engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong publication record in PKPD modelling and/or systems biology (peer-reviewed journals and/or conferences)
- Machine learning and advanced computational methods
- Exposure to multiple modelling platforms and programming languages
- Experience with Bayesian analysis and population modelling frameworks
- Familiarity with systems biology tools (pathway analysis, network pharmacology)
- Regulatory knowledge (e.g., EMA, FDA guidance on PKPD modelling)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – can translate complex science for diverse audiences
- Self-motivated and independent – comfortable owning technical deliverables
- Team player – collaborative, supportive, and engaged with colleagues
- Intellectually curious – passionate about quantitative science and continuous learning
- Organised and detail-oriented – skilled at managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficient with modern communications technology and comfortable in virtual/hybrid settings
- Flexible working:
