Position: Flexible Supports Coach

We are seeking someone with awesome communication and organisation skills to work with the recruitment team and manage rosters for our people/clients.

08th September, 2026

We’re looking for a values-driven Coach who believes in the potential of disabled people to live full, self-directed lives.

This role sits within a flexible funding environment where disabled people make decisions about their own supports. You’ll work alongside people and their whānau to turn these choices into practical, sustainable arrangements—guided by Enabling Good Lives (EGL) principles, strong coordination, and sound judgement.

About Us

Florence Nightingale Agency has supported people since 1997 to live well at home and in their communities. Our Flexible Disability Support Unit helps people manage their own funding with the right balance of guidance, coaching, and coordination. Our work is grounded in choice and control, strengths, and responsible use of public funding.

About You

You are:

  • Values-driven and respectful of people’s autonomy
  • A critical thinker, able to balance preferences, budgets, and practical realities
  • Self-led, proactive, and solution-focused
  • Skilled at building trusting, respectful relationships
  • Open to learning and developing knowledge of EGL, DSS policy, and hosted funding

What You’ll Do

  • Work alongside people to shape supports that reflect their goals
  • Provide guidance so funding is used confidently and responsibly
  • Coordinate rosters that are reliable and sustainable
  • Monitor budgets and identify risks early
  • Support effective matching of support workers
  • Maintain clear communication and accurate documentation

What This Role Is Not

This is not about making decisions for people, simply filling shifts, or purely administrative work. It’s about enabling autonomy while ensuring supports are practical, sustainable, and responsible.

What Success Looks Like

  • People feel confident and in control
  • Supports reflect individual choices and lifestyles
  • Funding is used appropriately and sustainably
  • Rosters are stable and responsive
  • Strong, trusting relationships are built
