Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited college or university with valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in assigned field as required by the Professional Standards Commission. Eight years of successful classroom teaching experience. Successful experience with training or supporting teachers and staff in technology related areas. Basic understanding of system software and programs. Must have a valid Georgia Motor Vehicle operator’s license with endorsements compatible with assigned duties of Cherokee County Board of Education.
GOAL
Monitor school instructional technology programs to assure maintenance of standards, quality and equity to support curriculum. Primary responsibility for coordinating the instructional technology training within assigned schools. Directly responsible for quality and quantity of training activities assigned.
Representative Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists with the planning and design of technology training and professional development activities.
- Model the delivery of technology-based instruction to assist teachers in the successful integration of technology and increasing student achievement.
- Provide knowledge of web-based and application-based resources available to educators for the creation and development of lesson plans.
- Assist with selecting, developing and aligning resources to the classroom.
- Monitor school system data to determine trends and in turn develop and implement the most effective strategies for meeting and exceeding state and national student achievement goals.
- Research and assist with technology resources correlated to Curriculum Maps and core content standards for classroom use.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to deliver technology-connected resources and activities in the classroom.
- Provide professional development with appropriate software and hardware products.
- Monitor technology use and effectiveness in the classroom.
- Assists with the implementation of appropriate universal screening process.
- Assists in reviewing and evaluating results of District-wide assessments and recommends appropriate modifications.
- If applicable, operate Board-owned vehicle in a safe manner, and assume responsibility for all supplies and equipment on the vehicle.
- Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
- Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
- Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to assignments.
- Maintain communication linkages with district level departments and schools regarding technology training needs.
- Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies of Cherokee County School System.
- Interact effectively with the general public, staff members, students, teachers, parents and administrators, using tact and good judgment.
- Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
- Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
