Position: Tax Reviewer (Canton)

Description

The Tax Reviewer is responsible for overseeing and reviewing tax returns prepared by junior staff to ensure accuracy, compliance with tax regulations, and adherence to firm policies. This role requires an experienced professional with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review Tax Returns:
    Analyze and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns for accuracy and compliance; ensure all deductions, credits, and tax liabilities are calculated correctly.
  • Compliance and Regulation:
    Stay updated with federal, state, and local tax laws and communicate changes to the team; ensure all tax documents comply with current tax regulations and policies.
  • Team Leadership and Support:
    Provide guidance and support to junior tax staff and interns.
  • Client Interaction:
    Communicate with clients to gather necessary information or clarify discrepancies; provide exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintain accurate and organized records of all reviewed tax returns; prepare and present reports to the Tax Manager/Partner on review findings and improvements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Master’s of Accountancy or CPA Eligibility required; CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation and review.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
