MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree required; A degree in School Leadership, Personnel Administration, Criminal Justice, Public Safety or Paralegal Degree preferred. Experience in a school district environment and familiarity with legal compliance guidelines and procedures beneficial.

GOAL

Conducts investigations, as assigned, into employee conduct that may be in violation of Board policies, administrative procedures, State Board regulations, or State and Federal laws.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Investigate allegations of conduct that may violate School Board policies, procedures, state and federal laws, or Code of Ethics including but not limited to EEOC, Harassment, ADA, Discrimination, and employee disputes.
  • Develop and ensure clear and consistent processes for managing employee matters.
  • Prepare detailed, well-documented, and objective investigative reports outlining findings, evidence, and conclusions from assigned investigations, ensuring accuracy and clarity for administrative decision-making and legal review.
  • Collaborate with relevant government agencies to gather pertinent information and resources necessary for investigations.
  • Provide testimony on investigative findings before Georgia Professional Standard Commission hearings, Hearing Tribunal Panels, during employee complaint hearings, and in other administrative or judicial proceedings.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and confidential records of all investigations, ensuring proper documentation, organization, and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Maintain direct and proactive communication with the Chief Human Resource Officer regarding the progress and outcomes of investigations related to employee conduct, particularly those that may lead to disciplinary action, ensuring timely updates and alignment on next steps.
  • Demonstrate and maintain knowledge and understanding of all CCSD policies as well as new or changing federal and state guidelines.
  • Complete all job assignments in a timely, accurate and professional fashion.
  • Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
  • Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
  • Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to assignments.
  • Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
  • Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
  • Follow all federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
