Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science or closely related area. Minimum of 5 years of experience in business information systems and enterprise resource planning tools or closely related development. Experience managing ERP systems, data governance, and integrations. Experience in a public K-12 school system or familiarity with educational or public sector technology environments preferred.
Hold a deep understanding of software development principles, methodologies, and best practices. Show proficiency in programming languages, frameworks, and tools commonly used in application development. Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Experience with data analytics tools and technologies as well as knowledge of API development and middleware solutions preferred.
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Business Information, the Supervisor of Business Information is responsible for overseeing the design, development, configuration, and implementation of software applications and district data structures. The Supervisor of Business Information will manage development teams, ensure the quality and performance of applications and data, and align projects with business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in software development management, technology strategy, and team leadership.

- Drive initiatives to optimize system architecture for scalability, security, and performance.
- Develop and implement application development strategies aligned with business goals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing application development team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of enterprise software applications.
- Manage projects from initiation through completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Participate in long-term planning for system upgrades, migrations, and enhancements.
- Research and recommend emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Design and manage integrations between ERP systems and other district applications.
- Oversee database architecture, security, and optimization for ERP systems.
- Ensure compliance with district-wide data governance standards.
- Direct the development and maintenance of data infrastructure, including data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL processes.
- Implement APIs, ETL workflows, and middleware solutions for seamless data exchange.
- Oversee data collection, analysis, and interpretation to generate actionable insights.
- Develop dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs and business metrics.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide training and support to end-users to maximize system utilization.
- Consult users to define technical needs and requirements.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures, federal and state laws, and School Board policies.
- Represent the school district at meetings, conventions and conferences when required and approved in a professional manner.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
- Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies of the Cherokee County School District.
- Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.
- Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.
- Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to assignments.
- Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
- Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies.
