MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum three years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server Platform. Proficiency in Data Warehousing concepts: star schema, fact and dimensional tables, slowly changing dimensions and data marts. Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications.

GOAL

Design, develop, manage and maintain the district’s database resources.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the design, development, test, release, maintenance, and technical support of custom data applications such as data pipelines/ETLs/data processing/APIs.

  • Responsible for the design, development, test, release, maintenance, and technical support of data analysis reports and dashboards using Power BI and reports using SSRS.

  • Performs data modelling and database design for data and reporting applications as well as other applications as needed.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, business reports and data analytics using Microsoft systems and tools.

  • Sustain backup and recovery strategy planning and implementation.

  • Develop and maintain data security best practices including data encryption, data access prevention and data access logging/monitoring.

  • Optimize database systems to ensure data quality and integrity while ensuring performance efficiency.

  • Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.

  • Performs analysis, design and implementation of data migration as needed.

  • Provide training and develop technical and instructional manuals.

  • Provide data management support to users.

  • Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols.

  • Initiate and execute discovery meetings to understand end user requirements to design efficient solutions.

  • Maintain strong communication channels with district-level departments and schools.

  • Serve on district committees as assigned.

  • Perform and promote all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies of Cherokee County School System.

  • Professionally represent the Cherokee County School District at meetings, conferences and conventions.

  • Interact effectively with the general public, staff members, students, teachers, parents and administrators, using tact and good judgment.

  • Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/or credential as may be required for this position.

  • Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable and punctual manner.

  • Participate in training programs to increase skills and proficiency related to assignments.

  • Review current developments, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.

  • Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.

  • Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
