Day in the life

You start by reviewing the job packet, setting tooling and fixtures, dialing in work holding, and establishing offsets. You safely prove out an approved program, inspect the first part, and get the green light from Quality or the appropriate approver. With the setup validated, you keep the run moving—monitoring tool wear, part quality, and cycle consistency—making authorized parameter tweaks and simple at-machine program edits as needed.

You partner with operators to share best practices and escalate complex issues to the Production Lead, Operations Specialists, Engineering, Quality, or Maintenance.

What you’ll handle

Independently set up and operate CNC equipment with complete ownership of tooling, fixtures, work holding, and offsets

Prove out approved programs safely; inspect initial parts and obtain required approvals before production

Run production, monitor part quality and tool condition, and troubleshoot routine machining and setup issues

Make authorized program and cutting-parameter adjustments; create simple programs at the machine when needed

Guide operators on job requirements, maintain setup documentation, and escalate complex challenges appropriately

What you’ll bring

Hands-on CNC experience performing independent setups, first-article verification, and production runs Depth in at least one machine family: mills, lathes, or routers

Ability to read blueprints and GD&T; interpret CNC programs and setup documents

Working knowledge of tooling, work holding, offsets, cutting parameters, precision measurement, and safe prove-out Clear communication, sound troubleshooting judgment, and willingness to do both setups and standard runs

Our floor includes Haas and Smart mills and lathes, plus KOMO, Heian, and Homag routers. Experience on these platforms is helpful. Background in plastics or composites is a plus; comparable CNC experience in other materials is welcome.
