Associate Veterinarian

Georgia Equine Veterinary Services and Hospital has an immediate opening for an associate veterinarian. We are an equine exclusive practice in the greater Atlanta area. We have a heavy emphasis on sports medicine with in house capabilities and surgical options.

The practice was established in 2011 offering high quality care to a wide variety of horses in all disciplines. Client base mainly hunter/jumper, and dressage base, with pleasure and family horses mixed in. Strong interest in lameness is a must. We provide primary care medicine, sports medicine, reproduction, surgery, and emergency care to our patients.

GEVS is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasonography, video endoscope and gastroscope, shockwave and power dentistry equipment. We utilize PRP, IRAP, and Pro-Stride, for treatment of joint and soft tissue injuries. The hospital is equipped with full surgery suite, 5 hospital stalls with cameras. A fully equipped practice vehicle, license fees, liability insurance, health and dental insurance, membership dues and CE stipend are provided.

Each doctor has a regularly scheduled 4-day work week, evenly divided on-call coverage.

GEVS fosters a personal, close relationship with our clients, and staff. Veterinarians work well together and collaborate on cases to create strong continuity of care. We pride ourselves with excellent client interactions and communication. Regular client education events are held quarterly.

We are looking for a motivated, compassionate, and team-oriented Associate Veterinarian to join our practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse case load in both ambulatory and hospital settings. You will have the opportunity to work with advanced diagnostic tools and collaborate with experienced veterinarians to deliver comprehensive care. We encourage development of special interest for each of our veterinarians.

• Provide general wellness care for equine patients
• Conduct farm visits and provide ambulatory services in the surrounding area, also have haul in cases to our hospital
• Perform diagnostics using advanced imaging tools (ultrasound, radiography, endoscopy, etc.)
• Collaborate with our team of skilled veterinarians and technicians/assistants
• Engage with clients to educate and deliver excellent customer service
• Participate in continuing education and stay updated on the latest in equine medicine

• DVM or equivalent degree required
• Eligibility for or current Georgia state veterinary license
• Strong interest in equine lameness and sports medicine. Surgical interest is a bonus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
• Mentorship is always available, no matter what experience level
