Retail Associate

Overview

The Retail Associate position at Ross Stores, Inc. is a full‑time role that focuses on creating a positive shopping experience for customers and maintaining a, well‑merchandised store environment.

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly, courteous manner; ensure a friendly store greeting and thank you at every register transaction.
• Maintain merchandise presentation, stocking, and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and organized.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas at front‑end, sales floor, and restrooms.
• Handle all customer service calls promptly and resolve issues in a courteous and helpful way; call store leadership if needed.
• Follow all cash, charge‑card, and refund policies; maintain accuracy when handling bankable tenders.
• Follow loss prevention awareness programs and merchandising best practices to protect merchandise and store assets.
• Maintain a high level of safety awareness on the sales floor; report or correct any unsafe conditions.
• Assist in all tasks required to achieve operational goals and support the store team.

• Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, and pleasant manner.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

• Stand, walk, and move around the store for 100% of working time.
• Bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
• Push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally; push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds for stockroom shifts.
• Use store equipment, PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
• Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
