Senior Tax Accountant

Canton, MA – 2 days onsite required

$90,000–$105,000 per year

Our client based in Canton, MA is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join their growing team in a dynamic, client‑focused environment. This position offers flexibility, professional development opportunities, and a supportive culture that values work‑life balance.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of tax engagements with minimal supervision while collaborating with supervisors, managers, and partners. This role involves direct client interaction, technical tax work, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive Big 4 public accounting experience.
  • BS in Accounting required; MSA or MBA preferred.
  • CPA license or eligibility strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage workload during peak periods.
  • Strong technical knowledge and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Detail‑oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review complex federal and state tax returns for C Corporations, S Corporations, Partnerships, Trusts, and Individuals.
  • Supervise and mentor interns and staff accountants.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of business operations and team responsibilities.
  • Conduct tax research and provide client support.
  • Develop advanced technical skills through on‑the‑job experience and formal learning.
  • Participate in staff training and development initiatives.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Document work effectively and resolve issues promptly.
  • Assist with proposal development and research as needed.
  • Contribute to firm‑wide initiatives such as recruitment and marketing.
  • Prepare returns as needed and support departmental training programs.
  • Monitor staff scheduling and workloads, providing timely feedback.
