Collins is seeking a motivated and experienced Structural Design Project Engineer to contribute to our team in Canton, Massachusetts
. The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting, including plan set development and structural detailing for transportation infrastructure projects in addition to having experience with, and a desire to expand their knowledge in, structural design and load rating of bridges and other related transportation infrastructure. This role is 3 days on-site/week.
This position provides the opportunity to lead assigned tasks and projects, consult with clients and government agencies, and work on various structural design and load rating projects for MassDOT, MBTA, NHDOT, and RIDOT. Additionally, there are opportunities to coach and mentor junior staff and grow your leadership abilities. TypicalDuties And Responsibilities
- Provide technical engineering information to project manager to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.
- Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on-field and/or design issues.
- Independently performs moderately difficult engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
- Prepare complete engineering plans or reports.
- Usecomputer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
- Keep project manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services.
- Responsible for small to moderately difficult projects from inception to completion.
- Has limited communication with clients.
- Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
- Directand supervise the work of entry-level engineers, technicians, drafters, and administrative staff.
- Other duties may be assigned.
