Primary Responsibilities- Develop and maintain standard cost structures for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
- Confirm the accuracy of bills of materials for current and newly launched products.
- Investigate and explain cost variances, including labor efficiency, material usage, yield, overhead, and absorption.
- Build and monitor key operational metrics and design cost‑tracking dashboards for manufacturing teams.
- Lead initiatives aimed at reducing costs and enhancing gross margin performance.
- Support the annual budgeting cycle and quarterly forecasting related to cost of goods sold and margin planning.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and improved manufacturing efficiency.
- Contribute to long‑term financial planning by assessing risks and opportunities tied to inventory and production costs.
- Complete monthly reconciliations between the general ledger and inventory subledger.
- Review inventory levels and determine reserves for slow‑moving, excess, or obsolete stock based on production and sales trends.
- Prepare monthly reports summarizing spending variances, product costing updates, inventory activity, and capacity utilization.
- Work closely with operations to evaluate and strengthen inventory control procedures.
- Serve as an active participant in the rollout and integration of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in accounting, finance, or business; an MBA is a plus.
- At least five years of experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to standard costing.
- Ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, costing methodologies, ERP/MRP platforms, and inventory management principles.
- Highly detail‑oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous.
