Private Duty Caregiver – Homestead Health Care (Canton, MI)

We are seeking compassionate caregivers to provide physical and emotional support to our elderly clients. Flexible 4–12 hour shifts are available.

• Use transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit‑to‑stand devices, gait belts, and slide boards.
• Assist residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and walking.
• Evaluate changes in client’s health and confer with other healthcare team members as needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the environment, including light housekeeping duties.
• Use and clean medical devices such as catheters, colostomy bags, and oxygen supplies.
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor.
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities.
• Follow schedule, assisting residents with repositioning.
• Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping as required.
• Complete all required documents and charting.
• Plan, shop for, and prepare nutritious meals.
• Provide companionship for the client.
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures.

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation.
• Travel within a maximum of 25 miles.
