Key Job Responsibilities- Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability.
- Carry out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to overall availability of AWS services.
- Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
- Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
- Help interview, train, and onboard new team members.
- Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds.
- Working in cramped and/or elevated locations.
- Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
- Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
- Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations, covering both night and day shifts.
- Possibly assigned to a facility still under development, which may require travel to established locations for training until the designated site becomes fully operational.
- Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites or until the assigned facility is operational.
- Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of the assigned facility.
- Work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- 18+ months of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.
- 18+ months of computer layer 1/2 networking experience (including troubleshooting and repair).
- Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT-related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering, etc.).
- Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+).
- Understanding of Linux or similar operating systems.
- Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
- Experience training and onboarding of new team members.
The base pay for this position ranges from $55,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $125,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a total compensation package that may include equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
