AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. You’ll join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to deliver safety, security, and infinite capacity at low cost.

NOTE:

Lump‑sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate.

Key job responsibilities
  • Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix, troubleshoot network issues, respond to operational incidents, and carry out routine service repairs to maintain AWS service availability.
  • Serve as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, developers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
  • Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on operational issue analysis.
  • Help interview, train, and onboard new team members.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds.
  • Working in cramped and/or elevated locations; bending, lifting, stretching, reaching.
  • Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
Work Environment
  • Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (night and day shifts).
  • Possibly assigned to facilities under development, requiring travel to established sites for training until the designated site becomes fully operational.
Essential Requirements
  • Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
  • Willingness to temporarily work at alternate sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational.
  • Travel frequency varies by business needs and facility status.

  • Take ownership of technical issues brought by the customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution.
  • Show strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Solve problems at their root and understand broader context.
  • Maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting.
  • Act independently when direction or support is absent.
  • Improve effectiveness through process innovation.

Basic Qualifications
  • Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • 18+ months computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.
  • 18+ months computer layer 1/2 networking experience (troubleshooting and repair).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT-related field.
  • Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+).
  • Understanding of Linux or similar operating systems.
  • Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
  • Experience training and onboarding new team members.
