As a Data Center Engineering Technician, you will maintain the heartbeat of mission‑critical technology infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations that power global digital experiences and contribute to 99.999% uptime.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You will collaborate with software, hardware, security, operations, and supply chain experts to deliver the highest safety and security standards while providing immense capacity at the lowest possible cost.
Key Responsibilities- Daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
- Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
- Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- Perform rack installs, decommissioning, and preventive maintenance within SLA.
- Perform PM, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Write technical documentation to support the change management program.
- Manage daily work requests and project execution from conception to completion.
- On‑site support of contractors, sub‑contractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with established practices and local legislation.
- Shift work schedule: up to 12‑hour shifts, rotating on a predefined schedule; some locations have on‑call rotations.
- Regularly lift or move up to 39 pounds independently; participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds.
- Maintain balance while working on a ladder; perform construction tasks while walking, kneeling, crouching, crawling, or climbing stairs.
- Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands, and arms; work above shoulders and grasp, carry, push, and pull objects into position.
- Work in an environment requiring provided ear protection.
- Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until the assigned facility is operational.
- Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of the assigned facility.

Basic Qualifications- 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
- 2+ years of electrical and mechanical experience.
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.
- Experience working in a data center or mission critical facility (e.g., hospital, military facility, public safety facility).
- Associate or higher education in a related field.
- Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $152,700/year in our highest geographic market.
