We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer Intern to join our team in Canton, MS. The Systems Engineering group supports manufacturing, supply chain, and facility operations by helping specify, design, install, and support communication, control, quality, and monitoring systems. This internship provides hands‑on experience working with software development, systems integration, automation, and emerging technologies that support critical manufacturing operations. Interns will have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced engineers while contributing to projects that enhance production processes and operational efficiency.
ADay in the Life:
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, and deploy new technology solutions and proof‑of‑concept projects.
- Develop software applications using multiple programming languages to support manufacturing and facility operations.
- Design, build, and maintain databases that support system integrations and operational processes.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, coding, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through automation, data analysis, and systems enhancements.
Required:
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technology field. Students entering their Junior or Senior year at the start of the upcoming academic term.
- Basic to intermediate experience with software development using Microsoft .NET technologies (C#, Visual Basic) and SQL databases.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation languages such as Python, Power Shell, or similar technologies.
- Understanding of object‑oriented programming (OOP), software design principles, and application development methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of database design, data analysis, and systems integration concepts.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Exposure to software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and troubleshooting techniques is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools, collaboration platforms, and emerging technologies such as AI and automation is a plus.
- GPA of 3.0 or above (Candidates will be required to provide an official or unofficial transcript during the application process for verification.)
