Job Description & How to Apply Below
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a team in Canton, Ohio in a contract-to-permanent role. This position supports daily accounting and administrative operations across attendance tracking, shipping documentation, invoicing, receiving, and records management. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working with Quick Books and Microsoft Office in a fast-paced environment. This opportunity is well suited for someone who can manage routine processes accurately, communicate effectively across departments, and escalate exceptions appropriately.

Responsibilities:

- Record and maintain daily time and attendance activity for employees on multiple shifts, including absences, late arrivals, early departures, and incomplete time entries.

- Communicate with supervisors to obtain missing or corrected attendance details and route items requiring approval to designated leadership.

- Compile accurate attendance summaries and hours-worked reports on schedule to support payroll preparation by management.

- Create routine domestic shipping paperwork such as packing slips, bills of lading, and carrier labels, while coordinating shipment details with warehouse and production teams.

- Monitor shipment status, maintain tracking information, resolve standard delivery issues, and elevate significant discrepancies or delays when needed.

- Prepare customer invoices from verified shipment information and approved pricing guidelines after training, referring nonstandard situations to management.

- Track inbound deliveries, follow up with vendors and carriers regarding late or incomplete shipments, and alert internal teams to shortages that may affect operations.

- Enter confirmed receipts and vendor bills into Quick Books, reconcile invoices against purchasing and receiving documents, and organize supporting records and routine reports.

- Assist with purchasing administration by drafting purchase orders from approved information, maintaining order records, and supporting follow-up on expected receipts.

- Provide additional office and administrative support as assigned, including assistance with shipping-related activities that may involve international documentation under management direction. Requirements - At least 1 year of relevant office, accounting, or administrative experience, with a high school diploma or equivalent.

- Minimum of 2 years of practical Quick Books experience, including invoice entry, accounts payable support, billing, and routine reporting.

- Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer invoicing, data entry, and timekeeping-related record maintenance.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, with the ability to manage routine documentation and reporting tasks efficiently.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with numbers, data entry, and recordkeeping in a deadline-driven environment.

- Effective communication, sound organizational skills, and the judgment to raise concerns rather than make unauthorized changes or commitments.

- Ability to learn established company procedures, collaborate with multiple departments, and handle confidential employee and business information discreetly.

- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting, or familiarity with shipping, receiving, freight coordination, or purchasing support, is preferred.
