Oral Surgery Assistant

In response to growth, NEO Dental Implants and Oral Surgery is looking for an experienced Oral Surgery Assistant. We are a busy, productive office that requires someone with strong organizational and communication skills and a sense of urgency. The ideal candidate is a fast learner with experience as a dental implant coordinator preferred and oral surgery assistant experience required. Full‑time position located in Canton, Ohio.
Roles and Responsibilities- Understands doctor treatment recommendations and develops treatment plans from diagnosis.
- Effectively communicates treatment options to the patient.
- Maintains confidentiality of all information in accordance with HIPAA.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Monitors and maintains aseptic technique throughout procedures.
- Maintains an unobstructed operative field using surgical retractors, sponges, suctioning and irrigating equipment.
- Obtains and inspects sterile or nonsterile surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Obtains dental radiographs and performs digital imaging.
- Completes patient clinical narratives.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- BLS certification required or the ability to complete within one month of hire.
- At least one year of related experience preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to work well in a team or independently.
- Good judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Passion for keeping people safe.
- Strong attention to detail, vigilance, and meticulous care on the job.
- Superior listening skills with the ability to quickly comprehend instructions in emergency situations.
