Judge Direct Placement is seeking a Packaging Engineer in Canton, OH area! The candidate will be responsible for supporting packaging projects to meet all business unit needs. They are responsible to reduce all packaging costs as well as researching, developing, documenting, and testing new packing solutions that are new to the company or the world.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and implement new packaging solutions resulting in improvements in performance of present packing features, reduce packaging costs and faster and simpler processes
• Supports marketing research to help understand why consumers buy products and how packaging affects consumer decisions
• Perform concept tests around new and innovative packaging to help fulfill unmet consumer needs
• Identifies opportunities for new packaging technologies to present to Marketing Managers to understand packaging technology
• Coordinates and conducts packaging performance testing to help determine shelf life, product production, sales and specification tolerance
• Work with Engineering and Packaging Sourcing to identify competition
• Communicate with vendors and outside developers to raise technology standards
• Documents all work according to guidelines and procedures and ensures open communication by preparing test reports

Requirements:

• 3-5 years’ relevant experience
• Ability to self-manage, self-direct on projects under supervisor
• Collaboration experience with Marketing, Supply Chain on innovation and/or cost savings initiatives
• Demonstrated experience on packing development process
