Job Summary:
The Automation and Control Specialist provides technical sales support for automation and control products. This role assists the sales team, customers, and engineers with product selection, application guidance, and troubleshooting. The Automation and Control Specialist is essential in helping customers find solutions that meet their specific automation and control needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Support: Assists sales staff by providing technical expertise in automation and control products, including product specifications, selection guidance, and application support.
Customer Support: Respond to customer inquiries on automation and control products, offering solutions and troubleshooting assistance as needed. Commissioning of specific electrical products.
Product Knowledge Maintenance: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current automation and control technologies and industry standards.
Vendor Coordination: Work closely with vendors to ensure accurate product information and timely availability for automation and control components.
Training and Development: Assist the Sales Manager in providing product training sessions for sales staff and customers to enhance knowledge and usage of automation and control products.
Market Awareness: Stay updated on market trends, new technologies, and competitor products to support the team in offering cutting-edge solutions.
Required Skills:
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of automation and control systems, components, and applications.
Communication
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written skills for clear communication with sales teams, customers, and vendors.
Customer Service Orientation: Ability to provide high-quality support and resolve technical inquiries to ensure customer satisfaction.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Proficient in identifying and troubleshooting product or application issues.
Team
Collaboration:
Effective in working with sales teams and other departments to meet customer needs.
Technical Software Proficiency: Familiarity with relevant automation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification in automation and control systems is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in automation, control systems, or technical sales support, ideally in the electrical distribution or automation industry.
