What is the Sales Engineering Development Program?

The Sales Engineering Development Program will allow you to apply your technical knowledge and expertise to solve our customer’s problems every day.

The Sales Engineering Development Program starts with a comprehensive 6-month training program based in our World Headquarters in North Canton, Ohio. Our training program is one of the most respected in the industry and prepares you for future success. Through classroom and on-the-job training, you will be exposed to all aspects of The Timken Company's businesses and value selling techniques.

Upon completion of the training program, you will be placed into one of our sales offices or territories within the United States. You will have responsibility for a portfolio of business where you will leverage your technical and commercial expertise to solve customer challenges by offering The Timken Company's capabilities, products, and services. You will independently manage your customer territory consisting of original equipment manufacturers, distributors, and end users.

A key to success in this role is building strong relationships. This role offers flexibility and travel within your territory.

Educational Requirements/

Qualifications:

  • College graduate (December 2025 - May 2026).
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering degree.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • Engineering internships/co-ops preferred.
  • Leadership experience demonstrated in academic or extra-curricular activities, or during employment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
