Continuous Improvement Engineer
Contract to Hire position based out of North Canton, OH. This role requires onsite presence five days a week in a manufacturing environment that is currently expanding.
Responsibilities- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to optimize production processes.
- Collaborate with leaders and production teams to design manufacturing lines and flows according to lean methodologies.
- Evaluate existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements to reduce cycle time and minimize waste.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production-related issues, including equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, and production delays.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as defect rates, downtime, and material utilization.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and projects to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Establish and maintain documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and changes.
- Provide manufacturing engineering support for all new and existing products.
- Specify and design jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing tools.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including production, quality, and engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing process engineering.
- Prior experience in process improvements with strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and production processes.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- In‑depth knowledge and understanding of manufacturing lines/flows with lean methodologies and processes.
- ERP systems knowledge.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with continuous improvement tools such as PFMEA, DFMEA, 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone, VSM, Six Sigma, and other lean tools.
- Plant layout experience.
- Process optimization skills.
- New product introduction experience.
Located in a busy manufacturing facility with new lines and ERP system launches. Opportunity to gain valuable experience designing and optimizing manufacturing processes.
Job Type & LocationContract to Hire – North Canton, OH.
Pay And BenefitsPay range: $46.00 – $53.00 per hour. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be limited by plan, election, or program terms.
