GAI Consultants is seeking an Open Roads Designer for our Transportation Engineering Division. The position requires experience developing roadway design projects and provides an opportunity to work with engineering, planning, and environmental consultants delivering innovative solutions to energy, transportation, development, government, and industrial clients worldwide.
Responsibilities- Familiar with usage of AutoCAD and Micro Station; preference given to experience in Open Roads Designer.
- Perform calculations for engineering design reports and sketches.
- Read and interpret construction plans and documents.
- Communicate effectively with project team members.
- Conduct field construction monitoring and bridge safety inspections.
- Collect data and gather information or documents.
- Participate in laboratory testing and field investigations.
- Perform basic computations or analyses.
- Assist with preparation of engineering deliverables.
- Observe construction activities.
- Manage personal tasks, adhere to deadlines and scope.
- Receive close supervision; obtain mentored experience from a licensed engineer.
- Possesses foundational engineering concepts from undergraduate education.
- Acquires basic knowledge and develops skills through mentored experience.
- Applies learned knowledge and skills to assigned tasks.
- Performs routine technical work without prior experience required.
- Understands and complies with ethical codes.
- B.S. in Engineering or related technical degree.
- Entry level / 0+ years of experience.
- Collect data and gather documents.

- Assist in preparing engineering deliverables.

- Receives close supervision on all assignments.
- Attains mentored experience from a licensed engineer.
