Responsibilities
  • Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessment.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement.
  • Teach and counsel patients/families.
  • Set goals and develop treatment plans.
  • Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient‑specific and facility‑wide needs.
  • Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient/family education and adaptive equipment.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, as well as supervise PT and PTA students.
  • Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
  • Monitor patient’s response to treatment and modify treatment during sessions, as needed.
  • Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
  • Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in‑services.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Certified BLS or completion within the first 90 days of employment.
