The Linen Aide is responsible for loading and unloading of bulk linen carts, sorting and folding linen, loading of exchange carts and delivering them to the floors or other areas, stocking the Scrub Ex machines, gathering dirty linen from chutes, and washing/drying of mops and rags.

• Deliver linen carts from the dock and to the floors or other areas as required; may weigh up to 400 lbs
• Load exchange carts with linen from the bulk carts
• Hand fold or stack linen when necessary
• Gathering of dirty linen from chute rooms
• Operate tugger in a safe and effective manner
• Washing and drying of mops and rags
• Report any mechanical issues with equipment
• Maintain good physical condition, no limitations preventing stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and being on feet constantly
• Communicate professionally with multiple levels of staff and maintain positive relationships
• Use infection control/isolation techniques and PPE as appropriate
• Demonstrate accountability and commitment to coworkers
• Address issues in a timely manner
• Communicate effectively and can read, write and follow oral and written instructions
• Work rapidly and accurately to meet patient needs
• Observe hospital dress code and wear identification badge
• Comply with hospital attendance standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school graduate or equivalent; complete required organizational and unit competencies as assigned
• Excellent customer service, computer, and communication skills

O = Occasionally = 0–33% of the shift or 0–32 repetitions.
F = Frequently = 34–66% of the shift or 32–200+ repetitions.
C = Constantly = 67–100% of the shift or 200+ repetitions.
