Laborer at SA Recycling

Position Overview: We are seeking hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious individuals to join our team. As a Laborer, you will be responsible for unloading, processing, and disassembling various types of scrap metal; yard cleanup and maintenance; and performing general physical labor duties to ensure the highest quality of scrap material is processed and shipped safely and efficiently.
This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions. SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Responsibilities:- Sort scrap metal and debris in preparation for processing.
- Maintain a safe environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts and skid steers.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any defects or repairs.
- Prepare vehicles for processing, including removing parts and fluids.
- Perform yard cleanup and maintenance tasks, including digging, sweeping, and weed control.
- Assist with light facility maintenance, such as scraping and painting.
- Provide backup or assistance in the yard as needed.
- Follow all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Preferably 1 year of general labor experience in scrap metal or construction industries.
- Experience with skid steers, forklifts, is preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
- Willingness to learn new tasks as assigned.
