Position OverviewThe Die Welder supports forge and tooling operations by performing welding, repair, and preparations for machining activities on dies and related components. This role requires strong industrial welding skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Perform MIG and Stick welding on dies and tooling in a heavy industrial environment
- Read and interpret blueprints, layouts, work orders, and tape measurements
- Diagnose repair needs and determine proper welding and arc-gouging procedures
- Weld metal components and dies using flux core wire up to 3/32
- Use shop math, mills, lathes, and overhead cranes as required
- Identify defects, review drawings, and recommend repair solutions
- Recommend and implement tooling improvements to extend die life
- Set up and operate machine tools; fit and assemble parts for die repair
- Apply knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, and machining practices
- Follow repair sequences and specifications to ensure quality outcomes
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Minimum 2 years MIG/Stick welding experience in heavy industrial or die repair
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work
- Ability to use basic handheld measuring tools.
- Experience reading and interpreting drawings.
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates commitment to safety, quality, and workmanship
- Must be able to stand 100% of the time.
- Job involves standing, walking, twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing steps, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Walking on uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to lift up to 75-pounds repeatedly
