Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed and supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Embracing the Select Medical Way and Core Values, the RN prioritizes patient and employee safety while delivering superior care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans.
  • Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
  • Communicate relevant changes in patient status for continuity of care.
  • Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel, and delegate appropriately.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety per hospital and nursing policies.
  • Contribute positively to unit functioning through teamwork and effective communication.
  • Assume charge responsibility as requested and identify own professional growth opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific to certain locations).
  • Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
