Job Title

Registered Nurse - PCU (IMC/Stepdown)

Contract (13 Weeks) | 12-Hour Night Shifts | Onsite | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week
Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized step-down nursing care for patients with seizure disorders, strokes, syncope, dizziness, altered mental status, GI bleeds, pneumonia, sepsis, and those requiring inotropic therapy for cardiac or renal conditions
• Perform strong neurological assessments and manage common drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, Heparin-based weight drips, dobutamine, and insulin
• Perform peripheral IV starts and manage IV therapy using Alaris pumps
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including hospitalists, charge RNs, PCTs, respiratory therapy, IV team, case management, and discharge planning
• Float to same-level-of-care step-down units as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records

• Valid Ohio RN license or active Compact RN license
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NIHSS certification
• Valid driver's license
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system
• Must reside at least 30 miles from the facility to be eligible at the standard contract rate

• Experience in a step-down, PCU, or IMC setting with a neuro or stroke patient population
• Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Experience managing vasoactive or cardiac drips in a monitored care environment
• Comfort working with Phillips monitoring systems and patient lift equipment

• Work on a well-supported 24-bed step-down unit with a structured orientation process and a robust interdisciplinary support team
• Schedules are posted in 8-week increments with advance notice, offering a degree of predictability throughout your contract
