PURPOSE:
The Corporate Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting environmental, health, and safety compliance across Robin Industries' worldwide divisions. This position conducts inspections, manages regulatory reporting, supports audits, investigates incidents, and works with division leadership to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental, health, and safety matters, including OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory agencies.
Conduct inspections across Robin Industries' worldwide divisions to identify hazards, evaluate workplace conditions, and recommend safety improvements to management.
Prepare inspection and audit reports documenting findings, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
Monitor compliance with EHS procedures and applicable regulatory requirements; report concerns or non-compliance to appropriate management.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and health-related claims; identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain corporate risk management and EHS compliance files and records.
Manage environmental compliance activities, including hazardous waste tracking, VOC usage reporting, and disaster contingency planning, as applicable to each division.
Maintain OSHA logs, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documentation, and required environmental and employee exposure records.
Coordinate and prepare divisions for environmental and safety audits; serve as the primary EHS contact during audits, both in person and virtually.
Review, interpret, and stay current on applicable environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations in the countries where Robin Industries operates.
Collect or coordinate the collection of chemical, biological, and radiological samples as required for compliance or investigation purposes.
Maintain records of hazardous waste generation, disposal, and employee exposure in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Schedule and track required inspections (e.g., fire extinguishers) and ensure documentation is maintained, as applicable to each division.
Partner with division management to address EHS concerns, implement corrective actions, and improve workplace safety.
Develop, maintain, and update corporate EHS policies, procedures, and programs to support regulatory compliance and promote consistent practices across divisions worldwide.
Coordinate and support employee safety training and communication initiatives across divisions.
Monitor corrective actions resulting from inspections, audits, and investigations to ensure timely completion.
Identify opportunities to improve EHS performance and recommend appropriate changes to management.
Communicate significant EHS risks, compliance concerns, and program updates to the Director of Human Resources/Risk Management and division leadership.
Travel to domestic and international divisions as needed to conduct inspections, support audits, investigate incidents, and provide EHS guidance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
ADDITONAL SKILLS OR CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in environmental, health, and safety, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience independently administering EHS programs and managing regulatory compliance activities.
- Working knowledge of applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Experience conducting EHS inspections, coordinating audits, investigating incidents, and managing corrective actions.
- Knowledge of hazardous waste management, environmental reporting, and regulatory recordkeeping requirements.
- Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ability to interpret and apply applicable EHS requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience supporting multiple manufacturing locations or divisions preferred.
- International EHS compliance or audit experience preferred.
