Seasonal Part-Time Sales Teammate – The Buckle, Inc.
Summary
The Sales Teammate’s primary responsibility is to fulfill the mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” They also perform various sales, merchandising, and operational tasks such as cashiering, merchandise display, register procedures, and routine cleaning.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis description outlines the general nature and level of work performed. Not all duties are included.
- Greet guests and provide legendary service.
- Answer questions about store and merchandise.
- Recommend, select, and help locate products based on guest needs.
- Anticipate and fulfill guest needs by suggesting additional items.
- Demonstrate products using product knowledge and sales education.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security practices.
- Achieve personal sales-per-hour, average sales, and net sales goals set by store management.
- Provide legendary service across front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area.
- Assist guests with fitting, checkout, bagging, and merchandise alteration.
- Use Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to accomplish goals.
- Fulfill guest loyalty requirements (fit appointments, Buckle credit card, guest connect).
- Place special orders or coordinate with other stores for merchandise.
- Maintain strong guest relationships and cultivate client-based business.
- Perform leadership actions and uphold high standards when managers absent.
- Consistently recognize recruiting opportunities using Jobs & Careers cards, email referrals.
- Create relationships via guest loyalty programs.
- Maintain professional and respectful attitude, fostering positive floor culture.
- Present merchandise to maximize sales and achieve optimal turnover.
- Stay current on product range.
- Collaborate to identify improvements and new product ideas.
- Ensure sales floor consistently sized and stock displayed appropriately.
- Work flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Open and close registers, manage cash, balance drawers, make deposits.
- Identify and prevent security risks; follow loss prevention guidelines.
- Understand POS procedures and all payment/exchange policies.
- Perform merchandising tasks: freight handling, re‑merchandising, displays, markdowns, transfers.
- Maintain clean, organized and shoppable store.
- Provide feedback to management on merchandise handling concerns.
- Communicate policy violations and concerns promptly and confidentially.
- Apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and policies.
- Contribute to positive team spirit while maintaining customer service excellence.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
There are no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical DemandsStand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel. Lift and maneuver up to 30 lbs. Vision requirements: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, focus.
Work EnvironmentRetail store setting. Noise level usually moderate.
