Overview

Asset Protection Specialist at The Home Depot — position focused on preventing financial loss due to theft and fraud and ensuring safety and environmental program compliance across assigned stores.

The Asset Protection Specialist utilizes tools to minimize loss, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring store security, auditing the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS), and driving a shrink-elimination culture in the store.

Position responsibilities also include preparing accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserving evidence, interacting with law enforcement, and testifying in criminal and civil court actions. The role requires reporting hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and carrying out duties in a way that minimizes risk of injury to associates, vendors, customers, and the Company. The successful candidate must demonstrate integrity at all times and remain focused on store objectives while supporting asset protection and operational responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Identify incidents of theft and fraud and respond in a timely and documented manner.
  • Review CCTV footage and exception reports to identify loss and security concerns.
  • Monitor the store's physical security and the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems.
  • Audit and enforce shrink-elimination practices within the store.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries; preserve evidence; and coordinate with law enforcement as required.
  • Interact with law enforcement and testify in criminal and civil court actions when needed.
  • Report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Demonstrate integrity at all times and respond to asset protection and operational concerns of associates, vendors, and customers.
  • Remain focused on store-specific business objectives while supporting asset protection and operational responsibilities.
