the position is 8 hours per day, 260 days per year.

this is an open examination. To be eligible under this examination, all applicants must be u.s. Citizens or possess a valid permanent resident card. All applicants must be high school graduates or possess a g.e.d., and have no felony convictions.

• high school diploma or equivalent
• civil service eligibility
• valid school bus operator’s license or obtain one within a year
• previous experience in the repair of diesel and gasoline engines
• previous experience in the repair of standard and automatic transmissions
• previous experience in tune-up and minor body repairs
• previous experience in fixing and/or installation of brakes
• physical ability to handle materials weighing up to 100 lbs.

• diagnose and repair district automotive equipment
• maintain a current inventory of supplies and equipment
• promote high standards of safety and good housekeeping methods in all work-connected areas
• establish an efficient and effective system of routine automotive maintenance and preventive care
• work with highway patrol for inspection of school buses
• keep accurate maintenance records
• provide information for repairs
• provide information regarding the sale and trade-in values of vehicles
• perform other duties as directed

should ten or fewer qualified applicants register for this examination, applicants will not take an examination, but will be placed on an eligibility list in accordance with their application filing date. Should more than ten qualified applicants register for this examination, those applicants will receive details concerning the examination at a later date.

your name will be placed on a list of eligible candidates upon receiving a passing score. Once the list has been established, your name will remain on the list for a period of one (1) year.

repeating an exam per oac rule 123: 1-9-01, an applicant who has competed in a civil service examination cannot repeat that examination or take an examination for the same classification within four months from the date of the original examination unless an alternative form of examination is given, or unless other standards are specified in the examination announcement.
