Position Summary
This position plays a critical role in the maintenance and repair of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This position is essential for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of diesel engines, which power a wide range of vehicles, including trucks, buses, construction machinery, and industrial equipment.

- Diagnose and Troubleshoot
- Parts replacement
- Diagnose and repair unit based on technician level which can include PMs, PDIs, diesel engines; injector cups and overheads; emission related issues; EV units, CNG units, transmission and other problems as identified.
- Initiate diagnosis of the vehicle’s problem(s). Drive the vehicle into the bay, hook up the computer and diagnose the problem area(s).
- Confirm accuracy of repair upon completion before releasing the unit.
Follow all safety guidelines: use of wheel chocks; lock out/tag out; all other safety requirements set by OSHA and Young Truck Sales. - Order parts to complete repairs via software from technician computer in bay.
- Clean the shop bay and surrounding area between repair jobs.
- Document the story of the details of the repair.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a diesel technician.
- High school education or its equivalent is required. Vocational or associate degree in diesel engine repair or its equivalent is preferred.
- Possess a valid Ohio driver’s license with the ability to be insured by the Company’s motor vehicle insurance carrier.
- Class A – CDL preferred.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs. Ability to bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 lb.
- Possess good time management, ability to prioritize, attention to detail, and basic computer skills.
- Understand cryogenic, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and outside –the-box thinking.
