Wage Information
Salary Range for 2026: $21.92 – $29.70 per hour (+$10‑$20 per hour in benefits).

Job DescriptionThe Millwright Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, rebuilding, replacement, and adjustment of a wide range of equipment in the Water Pollution Control Center, under the supervision of the Superintendent of WRF or designee.
Responsibilities- Maintain, repair, rebuild, replace, and adjust equipment such as pumps, motors, collectors, bar screens, boilers, air compressors, belt presses, incinerators, and other machinery.
- Repair, replace, and modify piping systems as directed.
- Diagnose equipment problems and failures to prevent future breakdowns.
Responsible for maintaining and improving the equipment used in the operation of the Water Pollution Control Center.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Several years of practical experience in mechanical equipment repair and alignment, or equivalent education/experience/training.
- Thorough knowledge of all phases of maintenance and millwright operations.
- Ability to diagnose equipment problems and failures and implement preventative measures.
- Ability to use mechanical tools and equipment effectively.
- Possession of a Class I, II, or III Certificate issued by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for incentive pay.
Applications will be reviewed; eligible candidates will be placed on an eligibility list for the examination. Candidates will be notified of the examination format, location, date, and time. Candidates may not repeat the same examination within four months.
Additional InformationDrug testing is required; eligibility is not final until a negative result is obtained.
Background investigation, including criminal record and driving record, may be conducted.
